«Este engaño al Correo debe de terminar», dijo, «Amazon debe de pagar los costos reales y los impuestos ahora». Según el presidente Amazon no paga las tarifas normales y es la causa del declive del servicio.
Esto, por supuesto, desató un pleito al interior del gobierno, el director del servicio postal, Joseph Corbett aseveró que lo dicho por el mandatario es incorrecto e injusto ya que el correo de Estados Unidos, a pesar de estar en crisis, su rama de paquetería presenta buenos resultados.
Contrario a lo que el mandatario dice, Amazon paga las tarifas normales -sin descuento alguno- al servicio postal.
