En la cuenta de Twitter de los Mossos d’Esquadra de Barcelona publicaron que el autor intelectual del atentado de Barcelona fue abatido:

De nombre Younes Abouyaaqoub, murió hoy al ser abatido por la Policía regional de Cataluña; esto lo informó también la agencia noticiosas EFE.
Abouyaaqoub portaba un cinturón de explosivos en el momento en que fue reducido por los agentes, aunque en estos momentos se desconoce si era simulado
El operativo se llevó a cabo en Subirats, a unos diez kilómetros de San Sadurní de Noya, al oeste de Barcelona.
